🚀 MCP Chrome Google Search Tool

The MCP tool is used to perform Google searches and extract web page content through the Chrome browser. When used in conjunction with Claude, it can achieve Google search and content scraping functions.

📦 Installation

1. Configure Claude Desktop Version

• Open the Claude desktop application on your Mac.
• Click "Claude" > "Settings" > "Developer" > "Edit Configuration" in the menu bar.
• Add the following content to the configuration file:

• Restart the Claude desktop application.

2. First-time Setup

• Grant Accessibility Permissions

  • When running for the first time, approve the macOS accessibility permission prompt.
  • Open "System Preferences" > "Security & Privacy" > "Privacy" > "Accessibility".
  • Add and enable the permissions for the Terminal application.

• Enable JavaScript from Apple Events in Chrome

  • Open the Chrome browser.
  • Click "View" > "Developer" > "Allow JavaScript from Apple Events" in the menu bar.
  • This setting only needs to be performed once.

After completing the above configuration, Claude can perform Google searches and extract web page content through the Chrome browser.

🛠️ Troubleshooting

Issue: JavaScript Error in Chrome

Solution:

1. Open the Chrome browser.
2. Click "View" > "Developer" > "Allow JavaScript from Apple Events" in the menu bar.

Issue: Accessibility Permissions Not Enabled

Solution:

1. Open "System Preferences".
2. Go to "Security & Privacy" > "Privacy" > "Accessibility".
