🚀 MindManager MCP Server

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) server implementation of the mindm library, enabling interaction with MindManager on Windows and macOS.

The server is built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and uses the mindm library to provide interfaces for interacting with MindManager on Windows and macOS platforms. Here is the project-related information:

📦 Installation

Requirements

• Python Version: Python 3.10 or higher is required.
• Dependent Libraries: The mcp and mindm libraries are needed.
• MindManager Support: Supports Windows and macOS versions of MindManager.

Installation Guide

macOS

# Clone the repository to the local directory
$ mkdir -p mindmanager-mcp-server && cd $_
$ git clone https://github.com/your-repository.git .

# Create a virtual environment and install dependencies
$ python3 -m venv ./.venv

# Activate the virtual environment (macOS/Linux)
$ source ./.venv/bin/activate

# Install project dependencies
$ pip install --editable .

Windows

# Clone the repository to the local directory
$ mkdir mindmanager-mcp-server && cd $_
$ git clone https://github.com/your-repository.git .

# Create a virtual environment and install dependencies
$ python -m venv ./.venv

# Activate the virtual environment (Windows)
$ .\.\venv\Scripts\activate.bat

# Install project dependencies
$ pip install --editable .

Run the MCP Check Tool

# Start the MCP server
$ mindm-mcp-server start

Configure the MCP Service in Claude Desktop

Method 1: Configure Using a Local File

Add the following content to the MCP Configuration File in Claude Settings:

Platform Support

• Windows: Fully supports topics, notes, icons, images, tags, links, relationships, and RTF formats.
• macOS: Only supports topics, notes, and relationships (with limited functionality).

Integration with Claude and Other LLMs

This MCP server can be installed in Claude Desktop or other MCP - compatible applications, enabling LLMs to:

1. Access mind map content.
2. Operate on mind maps (coming soon).
3. Create new mind maps based on LLM - generated content (coming soon).

Troubleshooting

• Make sure MindManager is started before running the server.
• For macOS, ensure that Claude Desktop is authorized to automate MindManager.
