This MCP server provides a simple tool to check if a website is offline and obtain information about recent downtime events.

✨ Features

The following tools are implemented:

• get_website_status: Checks if a specified website is currently online or offline.
  • Input: root_domain (string): The root domain name of the website to check (e.g., "example.com").
  • Output: A message indicating whether the website is operational or offline, along with information about the most recent downtime.

📦 Installation

⚠️ Important Note

This package has not been published to public repositories. Currently, it can only be installed from the source code.

Install from Source

# Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/yourusername/mcp-server-isitdown.git
cd mcp-server-isitdown

# Use uv (recommended)
uv pip install -e .

# Use pip
pip install -e .

Configuration for Claude Desktop

Add the following configuration to your claude_desktop_config.json file:
