MoLing is an MCP server that can be used on both computers and browsers. It achieves system interaction via the operating system API, supports operations such as reading, writing, merging, statistics, and aggregation on the file system, and can directly execute system commands. It's a local office automation assistant without any dependencies.

MoLing can run directly without installing any dependencies and is compatible with multiple operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and macOS. This can avoid environment conflicts caused by development environments such as Node.js, Python, and Docker.

Function Details

⚠️ Important Note

Command-line operations are dangerous. Please use them with caution.

• File System Operations: Read, write, merge, statistics, and aggregation.
• Command-line Terminal: Directly execute system commands.
• Browser Control: Based on github.com/chromedp/chromedp.
  • Chrome browser needs to be installed.
  • On Windows systems, the full path of Chrome needs to be configured in the environment variables.
• Future Plans:
  • Personal computer data organization.
  • Document writing assistance.
  • Schedule planning.
  • Life assistant functions.

⚠️ Important Note

Currently, MoLing has only been tested on macOS, and there may be issues on other operating systems.

Running MoLing in Claude

Configuration Format

MCP Server (MoLing) Configuration

The configuration file will be generated at /Users/username/.moling/config/config.json, and you can modify its content as needed.

If the file does not exist, you can create it using moling config --init.

MCP Client Configuration

For example, to configure the Claude client, add the following configuration:

💡 Usage Tip

Only 3 - 6 lines of configuration are required.

Claude configuration path: ~/Library/Application\ Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config

Here, /usr/local/bin/moling is the path to the MoLing server binary file you downloaded.

Automatic Configuration

Running moling client --install can automatically install the configuration for the MCP client.

MoLing will automatically detect and configure the address of your MoLing server.

💻 Usage

After starting the server, you can connect using any supported MCP client and point the client to the address of your MoLing server.
