📦 Installation and Usage

Install Dependencies

Run the following command to install the required dependencies:

npm install

Build the Server

Build the server for the production environment:

npm run build

Development Mode

Enable the automatic rebuild function in the development environment:

npm run watch

💻 Usage Instructions

When starting the server, you need to specify one or more allowed directories:

node build/index.js <Allowed Directory> [Additional Directories...]

All file operations are limited to these specified directories.

Environment Variables

• MCP_EDIT_STATE_TTL: The timeout period for the editing state, in milliseconds. The default value is 60000.

🚫 Error Handling

Common errors and solutions:

1. No match found

Error: No string match found for "oldValue" on line 5

2. Invalid regular expression

Error: Invalid regular expression pattern "([": Unclosed group

3. Multiple edits on the same line

Error: Line 5 is affected by multiple edit operations

⚠️ Security Precautions

• All file operations are limited to pre - specified allowed directories.
• Using symlinks to bypass path restrictions is prohibited.
• Protect against parent directory traversal attacks.
• Strictly verify the input file paths and modified content.
• The editing state automatically expires after 60 seconds by default.

🐞 Debugging Guide

It is recommended to use the test:tools script to comprehensively test the tool:

npm run test:tools

This script will:

1. Reset the test cases to the initial state.
2. Connect to the MCP server.
3. Test each functional module in sequence.
4. Display the output results of each operation.
