An Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for interacting with Yahoo Finance. This server provides tools for retrieving pricing, company information, and more.

⚠️ Important Note

mcp-yahoo-finance is currently in the early stages of development. Features and available tools may change and expand as I continue to develop and improve the server.

🚀 Quick Start

📦 Installation

If you're using uv, there's no need to manually install mcp-yahoo-finance. We'll run mcp-yahoo-finance directly using uvx. This method is recommended if you just want to use the MCP server.

Using pip

Install via pip:

pip install mcp-yahoo-finance

Using Git

You can also install the package after cloning the repository to your local machine:

git clone git@github.com:maxscheijen/mcp-yahoo-finance.git
cd mcp-yahoo-finance
uv sync

Claude Desktop

Add the following to your claude_desktop_config.json:
