The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open protocol that standardizes the way applications provide context to large language models (LLMs). Just as the USB - C port provides a standard connection method for various peripherals, MCP offers a standard interface between AI models and different data sources and tools.

This project implements a FastMCP server, integrating multiple useful tools to enable Claude and other LLMs to interact with the local file system and execute commands. Through well - defined tool interfaces, it extends the local system access capabilities of LLMs in a controlled manner.

Functionality

The file system and command execution tools provided by the MCP server include:

• execute_shell_command: Execute shell commands and obtain stdout/stderr outputs.
• fetch_page: Fetch web page content and convert it to PDF (Chromium installation required), then parse it into Markdown format via the local LLM.

Transmission Mechanisms

MCP supports multiple communication transmission methods:

• Standard Input/Output (stdio): Communicate using standard input and output, suitable for local inter - process interaction.
• Server - Sent Events (SSE): Implement server - to - client streaming communication via HTTP POST requests.

This implementation uses a local MCP server and communicates through text input/output.

Security Considerations

The MCP server provides Claude with access to your local system. Please note the following points:

• The server executes shell commands as your user.
• It can read, write, and modify system files.
• If security is a top concern, it is recommended to restrict access to specific directories.
