A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server designed for web research. It enables users to integrate real - time information into Claude, facilitating effortless research on any topic.

🚀 Quick Start

Simply initiate a conversation with Claude and send a prompt that requires web research. If you wish to use our pre - built prompt for in - depth web research, you can directly select webresearch → agentic - research in Claude Desktop.

📦 Installation

First, ensure that you have downloaded and installed the Claude Desktop application and that npm is installed.

Next, add the following content to your claude_desktop_config.json file (on Mac, this file is located at ~/Library/Application\ Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json):

This configuration allows Claude Desktop to automatically start the web research MCP server.

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

Just start chatting with Claude and send a prompt that needs web research. If you want to use our pre - built prompt for in - depth web research, select webresearch → agentic - research in Claude Desktop.

Advanced Usage

The following tools can be used during the research process:

Tools

1. search_google

   • Perform a Google search and extract the results.
   • Parameters: { query: string }

2. visit_page

   • Visit a web page and extract its content.
   • Parameters: { url: string, takeScreenshot?: boolean }

3. take_screenshot

   • Take a screenshot of the current page.
   • No parameters required.

Prompts

agentic - research

A guiding research prompt to assist Claude in conducting thorough web research. This prompt instructs Claude to:

• First, conduct a broad search to understand the background of the topic.
• Prioritize high - quality, authoritative sources.
• Gradually refine the research direction based on the findings.
• Maintain interaction with you and allow you to guide the research process.
• Always cite sources with URLs.

Resources

We offer two things through MCP resources: (1) Screenshots of web pages, and (2) Research sessions.

Screenshots

When you take a screenshot, it is saved as an MCP resource. You can access the captured screenshots via the paperclip icon in Claude Desktop.

Research Sessions

It details the visited pages, performed actions, and relevant context.
