🚀 Ramp-MCP: A Ramp MCP Server

This is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for retrieving and analyzing data or running tasks via Ramp's Developer API. To bypass token and input size limitations, this server implements a simple ETL pipeline and uses an in-memory temporary sqlite database for analysis, making it available for large language models (LLMs). By default, all requests are sent to the demo environment, but the target environment can be changed by setting RAMP_ENV=prd. Due to limitations of the API and/or your MCP client, large datasets may not be processed.

Database Tools

Tools for setting up, processing, querying, and deleting the in-memory temporary database:

Loading Tools

Load data into the server for clients to retrieve. Depending on the tools you wish to use, ensure that the required scopes are enabled when the server starts and include them in the CLI parameters.

For large datasets, it is recommended to explicitly prompt Claude not to use the REPL and keep responses concise to avoid timeouts or excessive token usage.

📦 Installation

Ramp Setup

1. Create a new client from the Ramp developer page (Profile > Developer > Create App at the top right).
2. Grant the required scopes to the client based on the tools you use and enable client credentials (Click on the application > Grant Types/Scopes).
3. Include the client ID and secret in the configuration file, along with the scopes you want to use.

Local Setup

1. Clone this Github repository using git clone git@github.com:ramp/ramp-mcp.git or other methods.
2. Install uv.

Basic Usage

Run the MCP server from your CLI:

If the file does not exist, create it under /<ABSOLUTE-PATH-TO>/Library/Application Support/Claude/.
