🚀 AWS MCP Server

An implementation of a Model Context Protocol server that supports AWS operations (currently limited to S3 and DynamoDB services). All operations are automatically logged and can be accessed via the audit://aws-operations resource endpoint.

🚀 Quick Start

Run Locally with Claude Desktop App

1. Clone this repository.
2. Set up your AWS credentials using one of the following two methods. Note that this server requires an IAM user with read and write permissions (for S3 and DynamoDB).
   • Environment variables: AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID, AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY, AWS_REGION (default is us-east-1).
   • AWS credential chain (set up via aws configure using the AWS CLI).
3. Add the following content to your claude_desktop_config.json file:
   • On MacOS: ~/Library/Application\ Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
   • On Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json

4. Install and open the Claude Desktop App.
5. Have Claude perform some read or write operation (e.g., create a new S3 bucket with a random name) to confirm the setup. If there are any issues, use the debugging tools provided in the MCP documentation here.
