What is MCPMonkey?
MCPMonkey is a browser extension based on Violentmonkey. It enables AI language models (such as the one used by Cursor) to interact intelligently with your browser through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). It provides a convenient interface to manage MCP servers and browser operation tools. How to use MCPMonkey?
The usage is divided into two steps: 1) Configure the MCP server in Cursor. 2) Install the browser extension. After completion, AI tools can help you manage browser tabs, analyze page styles, etc. through natural language commands.Use cases
Suitable for users and developers who want to enhance their browsing experience with AI, such as automatically organizing tabs, extracting web page design elements, and operating the browser through natural language.Main features
Tab managementGet information about all open tabs, create/close/activate/duplicate tabs
Page style extractionGet the style information of the web page (global styles, computed styles, color schemes, typography, etc.) for AI analysis
User script supportFully compatible with all user script functions of Violentmonkey
Advantages and limitations
Advantages
Enable AI tools to directly interact with the browser, expanding the usage scenarios of AI
Provide structured browser data (such as style information) for AI analysis
Based on the mature Violentmonkey extension, it is stable and reliable
Limitations
Currently, manual configuration of the MCP server is required
Some advanced features are still under development
Temporarily installed extensions need to be re - loaded after the browser restarts
How to use
Add an MCP server in Cursor
Find the MCP Servers option in Cursor's settings and add a new server. You can use the npx command or manually build and run it.
Install the browser extension
Load the temporary extension in Firefox through about:debugging, or wait for the officially released.xpi installation package.
Start using
