Basic Usage

The MCP server provides the following tools for AI assistants to interact with the CBS Open Data API:

get_catalogs

Get all available CBS data catalogs. Parameters:

• None

query_datasets

List available datasets in the CBS Open Data API with advanced filtering, sorting, and pagination options. Parameters:

• catalog (required): Catalog identifier (use "CBS").
• select (optional): OData $select parameter to select specific fields.
• filter (optional): OData $filter parameter to filter results.
• orderby (optional): OData $orderby parameter to sort results.
• top (optional): OData $top parameter to limit the number of results.
• skip (optional): OData $skip parameter for pagination.
• count (optional): OData $count parameter to include the count in the response.
• search (optional): OData $search parameter for free-text web search.
• expand (optional): OData $expand parameter to include related entities.

get_dimensions

Get all dimensions of a specific dataset. Parameters:

• catalog (required): Catalog identifier.
• dataset (required): Dataset identifier.

get_dimension_values

Get all values of a specific dimension with filtering and sorting options. Parameters:

• catalog (required): Catalog identifier.
• dataset (required): Dataset identifier.
• dimension (required): Dimension identifier.
• select (optional): OData $select parameter to select specific fields.

query_measure_values

Query values of a specific measure. Parameters:

• catalog (required): Catalog identifier.
• dataset (required): Dataset identifier.
• measure (required): Measure identifier.
• select (optional): OData $select parameter to select specific fields.

📦 Installation

Add the project to go.mod

go mod tidy github.com/dstotijn/mcp-cbs-cijfers-open-data@latest

Compile from source

git clone https://github.com/dstotijn/mcp-cbs-cijfers-open-data.git
cd mcp-cbs-cijfers-open-data/
go build -o bin/mcp-cbs-cijfers-open-data .

Usage

If you use go run, the CLI tool will be generated in the bin/ directory.

./bin/mcp-cbs-cijfers-open-data --help
