This is a TypeScript-based MCP server that implements a simple note-taking system. It demonstrates its functionality by showcasing core MCP concepts:

• Resources represent text notes with URIs and metadata.
• Tools are used to create new notes.

• List and access notes via note:// URIs.
• Each note contains a title, content, and metadata.
• Use the plain text MIME type for simple content access.

Tools

• write_note - Create a new text note.
  • Pass the content as a required parameter.
  • Send it to the Flomo API to receive the note content.

Prompts

• summarize_notes - Generate a summary of all stored notes.
  • Include all note content as embedded resources.
  • Return a structured prompt for LLM summarization.

🚀 Quick Start

📦 Installation

• Install dependencies:

npm install

• Configure environment variables:
  1. Copy .env.example to .env.
  2. Update FLOMO_API_URL in .env with your Flomo API key.
• Build the server:

npm run build

• Use development mode with automatic rebuild:

npm run watch

To use it with Claude Desktop, add the server configuration:

• On MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
• On Windows: %APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

Debugging

Since MCP servers communicate via standard input and output, debugging can be challenging. We recommend using MCP Inspector, which is provided as a package script:

npm run inspector

The Inspector will provide a URL to access the debugging tools. Open it in your browser.
