MCP Server Harvest

🚀 Harvest Time Tracking MCP Server

A TypeScript-based MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for the Harvest time tracking application, enabling LLM clients to interact with Harvest accounts.

Prerequisites

• Bun Runtime
• A Harvest account with API access
• A personal access token obtained from Harvest
• Account ID (from Harvest)

Configuration in Claude Desktop

Add the following content to the settings.json file:

Starting in VS Code

1. Open the terminal.
2. Run the following command:

npm install --global @harvesttime/tracing-mcp-server

3. Start the "Launch Harvest Time Tracking MCP Server" configuration in the configuration file.

Using in the Command Line

Run the following command directly:

@harvesttime/tracing-mcp-server --accountId <Harvest Account ID> --token <Harvest Personal Access Token>

🔧 Technical Details

Development

1. Clone the repository.
2. Install dependencies:

npm install

3. Start the development server:

npm run dev

4. Run tests:

npm test

Submitting Code

1. Create a feature branch:

git checkout -b feature/<Feature Name>

2. Commit changes:

git add .
git commit -m "Commit message"

3. Push to the remote repository and create a pull request:

git push origin feature/<Feature Name>

Maintenance

Updating Dependencies

1. Update the dependency versions in package.json.
2. Save the changes.
3. Install the updated dependencies:

npm install

Packaging

1. Run the packaging command:

npm run build
