MCP-Server-Stability-AI is a tool for integrating Stability AI into the Claude desktop application, supporting image generation and editing functions.

📦 Installation

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/tadasant/mcp-server-stability-ai.git
   cd mcp-server-stability-ai
   

2. Install dependencies:

   npm install
   

3. Start the server:

   npx mcp-server-stability-ai
   

Configuration

Edit the claude_desktop_config.json file and add the following content:

Usage

In the Claude desktop application, select "Stability-AI" as the MCP server and start using the image generation and editing functions.

Basic Usage

Image Generation

• Description: Generate a white cat standing under the moonlight.
• Command: generate-image "a white cat standing under the moonlight"

Background Removal

• Description: Remove the background from the image.
• Command: remove-background

Canvas Extension

• Description: Extend the image canvas 500 pixels to the right and 300 pixels down.
• Command: extend-canvas 500 right 300 down

Object Replacement

• Description: Find and replace the red car with a blue car in the image.
• Command: replace-object 红色汽车 蓝色汽车

Step-by-step Tutorial

Step 1: Install Dependencies

npm install mcp-server-stability-ai

Step 2: Configure Environment Variables

Edit the .env file and add the following content:

STABILITY_AI_API_KEY=Your Stability AI API key
IMAGE_STORAGE_DIRECTORY=/Users/username/Downloads/stability-ai-images

Step 3: Start the Service

npx mcp-server-stability-ai

Step 4: Configure in Claude

1. Open the Claude desktop application.
2. Go to the settings and find the MCP server configuration.
3. Add a new server, specifying the command as npx and the arguments as mcp-server-stability-ai.
4. Set the environment variables STABILITY_AI_API_KEY and IMAGE_STORAGE_DIRECTORY.

Step 5: Start Using

1. Enter commands in Claude, such as:
   • Generate an image: /generate-image "a spotted dog running in the park"
   • Remove the background: /remove-background
2. View the generated images saved in the IMAGE_STORAGE_DIRECTORY.
