An MCP server for connecting Claude with Gmail

This server connects Claude - or any MCP client - to Gmail using Gmail's local OAuth tokens. It is designed specifically for experimental and testing purposes. Please note that all retrieved emails will be sent to Claude's servers.

Installation Steps

1. Gmail OAuth Credentials First, you need to generate a personal OAuth token. Follow this guide. Create an OAuth client ID credential for a server - side application. You need to have a credentials.json file in the root directory, representing Google's OAuth token, as well as token.json. The token.json will be automatically generated on the first use of Google OAuth credentials.
2. Run docker build Build the image by running docker build -t programmable - email .. Confirm if it runs correctly: docker run -i --rm programmable - email.
3. Configure Claude to Connect to the MCP Server Navigate to the directory where the MCP server configuration is located: cd ~/Library/Application\ Support/Claude Edit the claude_desktop_config.json file and add the following content:

4. Open (or Restart) Claude
