A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server implemented for Mailgun, enabling MCP-supported AI clients (e.g., Claude Desktop) to interact with it.

🚀 Quick Start

Manual Installation

1. Clone the repository:

git clone https://github.com/mailgun/mailgun-mcp-server.git
cd mailgun-mcp-server

2. Install dependencies and build:

npm install

3. Configure Claude Desktop:

Create or modify the configuration file:

• MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
• Windows: %APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

Add the following configuration:

• Node.js (v18 or higher)

Sending an Email

⚠️ Important Note

As of 2025-03-18, sending an email seems to require an Anthropic paid account. Free accounts will result in silent failure.

Can you send an email to EMAIL_HERE with an interesting body that seems to be from the IT support team in The Office?
Please use the sending domain DOMAIN_HERE and send from "postmaster@DOMAIN_HERE"!

Pulling and Visualizing Sending Statistics

Can you generate a chart of email delivery statistics for the past week?
