Workflow

This MCP server helps manage the translation of JSON files step by step. It provides some simple tools to:

1. Obtain a base language file containing all texts in one language and a set of supported languages.
2. Get the text blocks to be translated. Each block will be a list of texts separated by lines.
3. Update the generated translations to the in-memory cache.
4. Save the translations to JSON files in specific languages.

📦 Installation

Clone the Repository

git clone

Install Dependencies

pnpm install # or npm/yarn

Build the Server

pnpm run build

Configure the MCP Server in Cursor

Navigate to Cursor Settings / MCP and click to add a new MCP server. In the opened JSON, include the server definition:

You need to replace <base-path> with the absolute path of the correctly compiled server.

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

Once the MCP server is running, you can interact with the server tools using the Cursor Agent. For example:

We are preparing the i18n files for a project and have a base language file. Using the following data, perform the proposed tasks to prepare the required other languages.

Base JSON language file: [Absolute path] to the base language file
Base language: [Base language]
Supported languages: [Comma-separated list of supported languages]

We need to perform the following tasks:
1. Clear the previous data.
2. Read the base language file.
3. Get all the strings that need to be translated.
4. Send each string to the translation API for translation.
5. Save the translation results to the corresponding target language files.

Repeat steps 3 - 5 until all strings are translated.

• Make sure all dependencies are correctly installed before running the server.
• If you encounter any issues, check your network connection as some API calls may require internet access.
