💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

1. Place your OpenAPI YAML file in the project directory or provide its path through environment variables.

2. Configure environment variables (optional):

# Create a .env file
echo "DEBUG=true" > .env
echo "OPENAPI_FILE=./path/to/your/openapi.yaml" >> .env

3. Initialize the server using Claude Desktop:

npm run init

How it Works

The server reads your OpenAPI specification file and performs the following steps:

1. Extract all paths and operations.
2. Create tools for each operation with appropriate input patterns.
3. When Claude calls a tool, the server sends the corresponding API request.
4. The response is returned to Claude for analysis.

Example

If the OpenAPI specification file is as follows:

paths:
  /users:
    get:
      operationId: listUsers
      summary: List all users
      ...

Claude can call the listUsers tool, and the server will send a GET request to /users on its behalf.
