đ Optimization Document for Integrating Existing MCP Servers into Hubspot Database đ¤
This document provides a detailed guide on optimizing the process of integrating an existing MCP server into the Hubspot database. It includes prerequisites, configuration steps on both Hubspot and Cursor, access permission checks, and acknowledgments.
đ Prerequisites
- A Hubspot access token with read/write permissions (required for private applications).
- The Cursor application installed and running to access the MCP server and interact with the LLM.
âī¸ Configuration on Hubspot
- Visit Hubspot and create an account.
- In Hubspot, go to
Settings > Integrations > Create a private app
. - Provide basic information for the private app.
- Click
Scope
, add a new scope, and ensure the following permissions are selected:crm.objects.contacts
(read and write)crm.objects.companies
(read and write)
- After adding the scope, click
Create app
. - Return to the
Private apps
page, view, and save the generated access token. This token will be used for subsequent MCP integration.
âī¸ Configuration on Cursor
- Download Cursor and set up the project folder.
- Go to
Settings > MCP > Add a new global MCP server
. - Paste the following content in the appropriate location, and make sure to include your
Hubspot access token
:
{
"mcpServers": {
"hubspot": {
"command": "docker",
"args": [
"run",
"-i",
"--rm",
"buryhuang/mcp-hubspot:latest",
"--access-token",
"<Your Access Token here>"
]
}
}
}
đ Access Permission Check
We can use the following prompt statements to verify whether the integration is successful or if any issues are encountered.
Verify the validity of the access token
Test the validity of the current access token by sending a minimal authentication request to the HubSpot MCP server.
Test data input for checking
