🚀 Quick Start

Prerequisites

• Python 3.12 or higher.
• Claude Desktop MCP client.
• Google Cloud Platform account (for Gmail API).

1. Gmail API Setup

1. Create a new Google Cloud project.
2. Enable the Gmail API.
3. Configure the OAuth consent screen:
   • Select "External" (no need to publish).
   • Add your email as a "Test user".
4. Add the OAuth scope: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail/modify.
5. Create an OAuth client ID for a desktop app.
6. Download and save the OAuth credentials JSON file.

2. Server Installation

# Clone the repository
cd MCP-Server-V4-Gmail

# Set up the calculator server
cd calculator-mcp-server
uv venv
uv pip install -r requirements.txt

# Set up the Gmail server
cd ../gmail-mcp-server
uv venv
uv pip install -r requirements.txt

3. Claude Desktop Configuration

Add both servers to the Claude Desktop configuration:

💻 Usage Examples

Start the Servers

# Calculator server
python calculator-mcp-server/mcp_server.py

# Gmail server
python gmail-mcp-server/src/gmail/server.py

Use in Claude

1. Start the calculator and perform calculations:

   python calculator-mcp-server/mcp_server.py
   

2. Use the Gmail API to send results:

   python gmail-mcp-server/src/gmail/server.py

🔧 Technical Details

• The Gmail API uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication.
• Tokens are securely stored in the specified location.
