🚀 Recipe MCP Server

A Recipe MCP Server that provides recipe retrieval services.

It supports the following tools:

• get_all_dishes: Retrieve all recipes in the recipe collection.
• get_recipe: Retrieve the recipe for any dish.

📦 Installation

# Create a new project directory
uv init cookbook
cd cookbook

# Create and activate a virtual environment
uv venv
source .venv/bin/activate

# Install dependencies
uv add "mcp[cli]"

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

1. Retrieve recipes: Recipes: https://github.com/Anduin2017/HowToCook/tree/master

   git clone https://github.com/Anduin2017/HowToCook/tree/master
   

2. Replace the recipe collection path in cookbook.py. Fill in the path of the dishes folder in the cloned repository into the following constant:

   # Constant
   COOKBOOK_URL = "/YOUR/COOKBOOK/PATH"
   

3. Configure the MCP client:

Advanced Usage

If you are using an SSE server, make the following modifications:

• Modify the execution entry in cookbook.py:

  if __name__ == "__main__":
     # Initialize and run the server
     mcp.run(transport='sse')
  

• Modify the MCP client configuration. Pay attention to the port number.
