A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that provides trading functionality through the CCXT library.

📦 Installation

Setup to Run the MCP Server (for Claude Desktop, but this MCP server can be used with any MCP client)

Prerequisites:

1. Download the GitHub repository:

git clone https://github.com/pcriadoperez/ccxt-mcp.git

2. Navigate to the folder:

cd ccxt-mcp

3. Install the MCP server:

mcp install run.py

4. Open Claude Desktop -> Settings -> Developer -> Edit Configuration:

• Add your environment variables.
• You may need to replace the uv location in the command (you can run which uv to find it).
• The configuration should look like this:

5. Close and reopen Claude.

Contribution Setup

1. Fork and clone the repository:

git clone https://github.com/pcriadoperez/ccxt-mcp.git
cd ccxt-mcp

2. Install dependencies:

uv pip install -e .

3. Set up environment variables:

# Copy the example environment file
cp .env.example .env

# Edit the .env file with your API keys
# Add your exchange API keys in the format:
# {EXCHANGE_ID}_API_KEY=your_api_key
# {EXCHANGE_ID}_SECRET=your_api_secret

🔧 Technical Details

Security Considerations

• Do not commit the .env file to the version control system.
• Use environment variables to store sensitive information (e.g., API keys).
• It is recommended to conduct trading operations on the testnet to reduce risks.

Contribution Process
