This is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that helps users more easily explore and call the South Korean Public Data Portal (OpenAPI). It provides the following MCP tools:

🚀 Quick Start

The Open Data MCP server simplifies the exploration and invocation of the South Korean Public Data Portal (OpenAPI). It offers a set of useful tools to enhance the user experience.

✨ Features

• search_api: Search for public data APIs by keywords.
• get_std_docs: Merge standard documents (markdown) using the listId selected from the search results.
• fetch_data: Call the actual OpenAPI endpoints based on standard documents/metadata.

Internally, the search/document tools use the mcp.ezrnd.co.kr (HTTPS) backend.

📦 Installation

Requirements

• Node.js ≥ 18.17 (Recommended: Latest LTS)
• npm (Package Manager)

💻 Usage Examples

Development Mode

You can use the Smithery CLI to run the MCP development server.

npm run dev

⚠️ Important Note

@smithery/cli acts as the MCP host. In the test environment, due to unsupported features, it is not possible to inject ODP_SERVICE_KEY. It is planned to modify the server to allow pre - injection through environment variables in the future.

Environment Variables

• ODP_SERVICE_KEY: Public Data Portal service key. Some APIs require key injection through query parameters or the Authorization header.
  • If the parameter name contains serviceKey, the key will be automatically injected.
  • If the header name contains Authorization, the key will be automatically injected in the format {Prefix} {Key}.

Detailed Information of Provided Tools

search_api

• Description: Search for a list of APIs by keywords on the Public Data Portal.
• Input:
  • query: An array of strings (keywords without spaces, recommended maximum of 5).
  • page: Page number (starting from 1).
  • pageSize: Page size.
• Output: Search results (JSON string).

get_std_docs

• Description: Receive an array of listId from the search_api results and return a merged standard document (markdown).
• Input:
  • listId: number[]
• Output: Integrated markdown string.

fetch_data

• Description: Call a specific endpoint based on OpenAPI metadata. The default protocol is HTTPS.
• Input: requestData
  • baseInfo.host: e.g., apis.data.go.kr (Protocol/slashes are not allowed).
  • baseInfo.base_path: e.g., /B552015/NpsBplcInfoInqireServiceV2
  • endpointInfo.path: e.g., /getBassInfoSearchV2
  • endpointInfo.method: GET or POST
  • endpointInfo.params: An array of [{ name, value }]. If the value is empty, it will be excluded.
  • endpointInfo.headers: An array of [{ name, prefix, value }]. Automatic injection of the service key into Authorization is supported.
  • endpointInfo.body: POST body (JSON)
• Output: Response body (JSON string or text).
