📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• Node.js >= 18
• Ragie API Key

Environment Variables

The server requires the following environment variables:

• RAGIE_API_KEY (Required): Your Ragie API authentication key

Installation Command

Install and run the server using npx:

RAGIE_API_KEY=your_api_key npx @ragieai/mcp-server

Command-line Options

The server supports the following command-line options:

• --description, -d <text>: Override the default tool description with custom text
• --partition, -p <id>: Specify the Ragie partition ID to query

Examples

# Use a custom description
RAGIE_API_KEY=your_api_key npx @ragieai/mcp-server --description "Search for information in the company's knowledge base"

# Specify a partition
RAGIE_API_KEY=your_api_key npx @ragieai/mcp-server --partition your_partition_id

# Use both options simultaneously

💻 Usage Examples

Cursor Configuration

Method 1: Create a mcp.json file

Create a mcp.json file in the project root directory and add the following content:

Method 2: Write a Shell Script

Create a shell script (e.g., start_mcp_server.sh) and add the following content:

RAGIE_API_KEY=your_api_key npx @ragieai/mcp-server --partition your_partition_id

Then give the script execution permissions:

chmod +x start_mcp_server.sh

Run the script to start the server.

Claude Desktop Configuration

To add this server in Claude Desktop, find the following path and edit the corresponding configuration file:

• Windows: C:\Users\<YourUsername>\.claudius\config\mcp.json
• macOS/Linux: ~/.claudius/config/mcp.json Add the following content to the file:

Replace <YourUsername> and your_api_key with your actual information, and optionally add the --partition your_partition_id parameter.

Development

The project is written in TypeScript and depends on the following main packages:

• zod: For runtime type validation

Development Setup

Run the server in development mode:

RAGIE_API_KEY=your_api_key npm run dev -- --partition optional_partition_id

Build the project:

npm run build
