🚀 MCP Ethereum Wallet Server (EVM)

This repository contains a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that enables Claude to access Ethereum and EVM-compatible blockchain operations via ethers.js v5. The server allows Claude to perform operations such as creating wallets, checking balances, sending transactions, and interacting with smart contracts.

The MCP server provides the following tools to Claude:

Wallet Creation and Management

• wallet_create_random: Create a new random wallet.
• wallet_from_private_key: Create a wallet from a private key.
• wallet_from PublicKey: Create a wallet from a public key.
• wallet_from_mnemonic: Create a wallet from a mnemonic phrase.

Wallet Operations

• Wallet Recovery: Recover an existing wallet.
• Wallet Export: Export wallet information.
• Wallet Import: Import an external wallet.

Asset Operations

• Asset Balance Query: Check the balance of tokens and ETH in the wallet.
• Token Transfer: Send tokens to other addresses.
• ETH Transfer: Send ETH to other addresses.

Contract Interaction

• Contract Deployment: Deploy a new smart contract on the blockchain.
• Contract Call: Interact with a deployed smart contract.
• Transaction Status Query: Check the status and detailed information of a transaction.

📦 Installation

Prerequisites

1. Install Node.js and npm:

   https://nodejs.org/
   

2. Install ethers.js:

   npm install ethers
   

3. Download and install MetaMask:

   https://metamask.io/
   

Installation Options

Option 1: Using npm Package

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/dcSpark/mcp-cryptowallet-evm.git
   

2. Navigate to the directory:

   cd mcp-cryptowallet-evm
   

3. Install dependencies and build:

   npm install
   npm run build
   

4. Start the server:

   node build/index.js
   

Option 2: Local Run

1. Run directly after cloning the repository:

   node src/index.js
   

Configuration

Add to Environment Variables

Add the following content to the ~/.env file:

WALLET_PROVIDER=metamask
metamask_rpc_url=https://eth-mainnet.alchemyapi.io/YOUR_API_KEY

Set Wallet Configuration

Create a wallet.config.js file:

💻 Usage Examples

After restarting Claude Desktop, Claude can interact with the Ethereum blockchain through the MCP server. For example:

Basic Usage

1. Create a new wallet:

   Can you create a new Ethereum wallet for me?
   

2. Check the balance:

   What is the balance of 0x742d35Cc6634C0532925a3b844Bc454e4438f44e?
   

3. Send a transaction:

   Can you help me send 0.1 ETH to 0x742d35Cc6634C0532925a3b844Bc454e4438f44e?
   

Claude will interact directly with the Ethereum blockchain through the MCP server.

🔧 Technical Details

Adding New Tools

To add new tools to the MCP server:

1. Define the tool in src/tools.ts.
2. Create the corresponding handling function.
3. Add the handler to the handlers object.
