A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for interacting with DAOs on the Internet Computer.

This is a TypeScript-based MCP server that implements an interface with Service Nervous System (SNS) DAOs. It provides tools for interacting with decentralized autonomous organizations by demonstrating core MCP concepts.

Setup

Add your seed phrase to the environment file:

Tools

• list_proposals - List all proposals for a specific DAO.

  • Accepts the DAO name as a parameter.
  • Returns a list of proposals for the specified DAO.

• list_votable_neurons - List all votable neurons of a user in a DAO.

  • Accepts the DAO name and user ID as parameters.
  • Returns neurons that can vote on proposals.

• get_system_parameters - List all configuration parameters of a DAO.

  • Accepts the DAO name as a parameter.
  • Returns the system parameters of the specified DAO.

• wallet - Get the wallet information of a user.

  • Returns the main ID of the current wallet.

• vote_proposal - Vote on a proposal.

  • Accepts the DAO name, user ID, neuron ID, proposal ID, and voting preference.
  • Allows voting for, against, or abstaining from a proposal.
  • Records the vote in the DAO governance system.

Install Dependencies

npm install

Build the Server

npm run build

Develop with Automatic Rebuild

npm run watch

📦 Installation

To use with Claude Desktop, add the following to the server configuration:

• On MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
• On Windows: %APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

Debugging

Since the MCP server communicates via standard input and output, debugging can be challenging. We recommend using MCP Inspector, which is available as a package script:

npm run inspector

The Inspector will provide a URL to access the debugging tool in your browser.
