Configuration

The server can be configured via environment variables in the .env file:

  • JOURNAL_DIR: Directory to save journal files (Default: ~/Documents/journal).
  • FILENAME_PREFIX: Prefix for filenames (Default: "journal").
  • FILE_EXTENSION: Extension for journal files (Default: ".md"). If not specified, default values will be used.

File Structure

Journal entries are saved in the following structure:

Entry Format

Each journal entry includes:

  1. Date header
  2. Timestamped conversation records
  3. Sentiment analysis
  4. Reflections and recurring themes
