🚀 Ethereum RPC MCP Server

An MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for interacting with the Ethereum blockchain.

This MCP server provides tools to query Ethereum blockchain data through standard JSON-RPC methods. It enables AI assistants and applications to interact with the Ethereum blockchain via a standardized protocol.

🚀 Quick Start

Adding to Cursor

To add this MCP to Cursor:

1. First, clone this repository:

   git clone https://github.com/yourusername/eth-mpc.git
   

2. Go to Cursor settings → MCP → Add a new MCP server.
3. Enter a name (e.g., "eth-mcp").
4. Select "Command" as the type.
5. Enter the full script path:

   node /path/to/eth-mpc/index.js
   

6. Click "Add" to enable the server.

Once added, the Ethereum RPC tools will be available in Cursor. This server uses stdio transport, making it compatible with Cursor, Claude Desktop, and other MCP clients.

Testing with the MCP Inspector

The MCP Inspector is a development tool for testing and debugging MCP servers. It provides an interactive interface to test your MCP server's functionality without a full AI client.

Running the Inspector

To run the Inspector:

1. Execute the following command in the terminal:

   npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector
   

2. Enter the command and path.
3. The Inspector will connect to your running MCP server and display the available tools.

Testing Tools with the Inspector

The Inspector allows you to:

• View available tools and their descriptions.
• Test each tool with different parameters.
• View responses in a structured format.
• Debug any issues in the MCP server implementation.

For example, to test the eth_getBalance tool:

1. Select the tool in the Inspector interface.
2. Enter a valid Ethereum address (e.g., Vitalik's address: 0xd8dA6BF26964aF9D7eEd9e03E53415D37aA96045).
3. Use the default block parameter (latest).
4. Submit the request and view the response.

This MCP server offers three key Ethereum RPC methods as tools:

• eth_getCode: Retrieve the code of a specific Ethereum address.
• eth_gasPrice: Get the current gas price on the Ethereum network.
• eth_getBalance: Check the balance of an Ethereum account.

This MCP server can be integrated with any MCP-compatible client, including:

When integrated, client applications can directly use the tools provided by the server to query Ethereum blockchain data.
