Configuration Instructions

API Key Configuration

1. Register a new account on the Perplexity AI account page.
2. Obtain your API access key from the dashboard.
3. Set the environment variable:

export PERPLEXITY_API_KEY=your_api_key_here

Usage

Direct Execution

node dist/index.js
# Or if set as an executable file
./dist/index.js

Development Mode

pnpm dev

Testing via MCP Inspector

pnpm inspect

Tool Reference

perplexity_search

Perform search operations using Perplexity AI models.

Parameter Description:

• query (string, required): Search query content.
• model (string, optional): Model to use (default is "sonar").
  • Available options: sonar-reasoning-pro, sonar-reasoning, sonar-pro, sonar.
• count (number, optional): Number of results (1 - 10, default is 5).
