Initialize the project

tribal init my_project
cd my_project

Start the service

tribal start

📦 Installation

Install using pip

pip install tribal

Install from source code

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/tribal-project/Tribal.git
   cd Tribal
   

2. Install dependencies:

   uv pip sync requirements.txt requirements-dev.txt
   

3. Install the project:

   python -m pip install -e .

Data Model

Tribal uses a custom data model to describe cultural and social structures. The core models include:

• CulturalGroup: Represents a cultural group.
• SocialNetwork: Represents social network relationships.
• CustomData: Used to store custom data.

API Documentation

List all cultural groups

tribal api list-groups

Create a new cultural group

tribal api create-group --name "My New Group"

Delete a cultural group

tribal api delete-group --group-id 123

Docker Deployment

Start the container

docker-compose up -d --build

Stop the container

docker-compose down

Integration with Claude

Method 1: Start the server directly

1. Modify the configuration file:

Method 2: Connect to a running container

1. Start the container:

   cd /path/to/tribal
   docker-start

Troubleshooting

1. Confirm that Tribal is installed: which tribal
2. Check the configuration: claude mcp list
3. Test the server status: tribal status
4. View error messages
5. Ensure that the database directory exists and has the correct permissions

Cloud Deployment

The project provides placeholder implementations for using AWS services:

• S3Storage: Used to store error records on Amazon S3.
• DynamoDBStorage: Used to use DynamoDB as the database.
