The Ankr MCP server fetches on-chain data through the Ankr API. It implements MCP to enable LLMs to access blockchain data.

This server provides the following on-chain data operations:

Token Operations

• Get Account Balances (get_token_balances_on_network): Retrieve all token balances for a given address on a specified network.
  • Parameters: Network, wallet/account address
  • Returns: On-chain asset data for the wallet

Environment Configuration

Set your ANKR API token by logging into the Ankr API documentation portal.

export ANKR_API_TOKEN=your_api_token_here

Run the Server

You can run the server directly from the command line:

npx @akki91/ankr-mcp

This server serves as a tool provider and can be used with compatible AI models that support MCP.

Integrate the Ankr MCP Tool in Claude Desktop

Follow these steps to update your settings and ensure the Ankr MCP server is available in Claude Desktop.

Step 1: Access Claude Desktop Settings

1. Open Claude Desktop.
2. Select Settings from the main menu.

Step 2: Update Developer Settings

1. Open Developer Settings.
2. Edit the configuration file containing your MCP server definitions.
3. If you already have listed MCP servers, append the Ankr MCP configuration to the end of the existing list. Otherwise, copy and paste the entire configuration above for the Ankr MCP server.

Step 3: Restart Claude Desktop

1. Close the Developer Settings menu.
2. Restart Claude Desktop to apply the changes.

Step 4: Verify Integration

1. After Claude Desktop restarts, click the tool icon below the chat prompt.
2. Confirm that the tools provided by the Ankr MCP server are visible and accessible.

Build from Source Code

# Clone the repository

Debug Mode

Debugging is supported using the MCP Inspector.
