🚀 NWC MCP Server

Connect your Bitcoin Lightning wallet to your Large Language Model (LLM) via Nostr Wallet Connect (NWC or NIP - 47).

This MCP server uses the official TypeScript SDK.

Add to Claude Desktop

Add the following to your claude_desktop_config.json:

Add to Goose

1. Enter goose configure.
2. Add an extension -> Command - line extension.
3. Name it nwc.
4. Specify the command to run: npx -y @getalby/nwc-mcp-server.
5. Timeout: 30.
6. Description: None.
7. Environment variables: Yes.
8. Environment variable name: NWC_CONNECTION_STRING.
9. Environment variable value: nostr+walletconnect://... (fill in your NWC connection key here).

Add to Cline

Copy and paste the following into a cline prompt. It should prompt you to update the connection string.

Add to N8N (Community Node)

Currently, this MCP server can only be used via the command - line (STDIO).

You can install the [n8n - nodes - mcp](https://github.com/nerding - io/n8n - nodes - mcp) community node and run n8n using the tool feature:

N8N_COMMUNITY_PACKAGES_ALLOW_TOOL_USAGE=true npx n8n

Create a blank workflow and add an AI agent node. Configure your LLM model, then add a new tool "MCP Client" (a small cube next to it indicates it's a community node).

When configuring the MCP client, add a credential and select Command - line (STDIO).

Command: npx Arguments: -y @getalby/nwc-mcp-server Environment variable: NWC_CONNECTION_STRING=nostr+walletconnect://your_key_here (create the whole line in a text editor and paste it, as the password field cannot be switched to plain text).

📦 Installation from Source Code

Prerequisites

• Node.js version 20+
• Yarn
• A Lightning wallet connection string supporting NWC

Installation

yarn install

Build

yarn build

Add Your NWC Connection

Copy .env.example to .env and update your connection string.

Check Tools (Test without Using LLM)

yarn inspect
