📋 Project Description

This project showcases how to rapidly construct an SSE (Server-Sent Events) proxy centered around AWS cost data, leveraging Anthropic's MCP (Machine Learning Platform) framework. The proxy is capable of retrieving and pushing the cost data of AWS accounts in real-time.

💻 How to Run

🚀 Quick Start

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/yourusername/aws-cost-sse-proxy.git
   cd aws-cost-sse-proxy
   

2. Install dependencies:

   pip install -r requirements.txt
   

3. Configure AWS credentials:

   • Create a config.json file and add the following content:

     {
         "aws_access_key_id": "YOUR_ACCESS_KEY",
         "aws_secret_access_key": "YOUR_SECRET_KEY"
     }
     

4. Start the service:

   python app.py
   

5. Use the test client:

   python client.py --host localhost --port 8000
   

🌐 Remote Setup

If you want to deploy this proxy to an AWS EC2 instance, you can follow these steps:

1. Create a new instance on AWS EC2 and ensure it has internet access.
2. Connect to the instance:

   ssh -i your-key.pem ubuntu@your-ec2-instance-public-ip
   

3. Install dependencies and configure the proxy as described above.
4. Start the proxy service.

🔧 Nginx Reverse Proxy Configuration

To provide the proxy service via HTTPS, you can use Nginx as a reverse proxy. Here are the specific steps:

1. Install Nginx:

   sudo apt-get install nginx
   

2. Configure Nginx to reverse proxy to your proxy service: Create the /etc/nginx/conf.d/ec2.conf file and add the following content:

   server {
       listen 80;
       server_name your-ec2-instance-public-ip;
   
       # Redirect HTTP requests to HTTPS
       return 301 https://$host$request_uri;
   }
   
   server {
       listen 443 ssl;
       server_name your-ec2-instance-public-ip;
   
       # SSL certificate path

       # SSL configuration
       ssl_protocols       TLSv1.2 TLSv1.3;
       ssl_ciphers         HIGH:!aNULL:!MD5;
   
       location / {
           proxy_pass http://127.0.0.1:8000;
           proxy_http_version 1.1;
           proxy_set_header Host $host;
           proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr;
           proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for;
       }
   }
   

3. Reload the Nginx configuration:

   sudo systemctl reload nginx
   

4. Start your proxy service and access it via HTTPS:

   https://your-ec2-instance-public-ip/sse
