🚀 Multi-Robot Control MCP Agent

This project creates an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that allows AI agents to control multiple robots simultaneously through an existing FastAPI robot control server.

The Multi-Robot Control MCP Agent enables AI agents to manage multiple robots concurrently. It offers a unified API for various robot operations, including movement control, audio playback, and camera access.

📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• Python version 3.10 or higher.
• UV (Python package management tool).
• Multiple running FastAPI robot control servers (as shown in the example).

Steps

1. Ensure the Python 3.10 environment is activated.
2. Install dependencies using UV:

   uv pip install -e .
   

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Setup

1. Start the FastAPI robot control servers:

   • The first robot runs on port 8000.
   • Other robots run on ports 8001, 8002, etc., sequentially.

2. Important Update: The Claude desktop client now automatically runs the MCP server for you.

   • There's no need to manually start the server via python server.py.
   • The MCP server functionality is directly integrated into the Claude desktop client.

3. The MCP server allows AI agents to control multiple robots and access their cameras.

Available Tools

All tools accept a port parameter (default: 8000) to specify the robot to control.

Movement Control

• drive_forward: Move the robot forward.
• drive_backward: Move the robot backward.
• turn_left: Turn the robot left.
• turn_right: Turn the robot right.
• stop: Stop the robot's movement.
• drive: Control with precise speed values.

Audio Control

• beep: Play a sound through the robot's speaker.

Camera Access

• get_camera_image: Obtain the robot's camera image.

System Information

• robot_status: Get the robot's status information.
• list_available_robots: List all available robots and their statuses.
