This repository contains a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that enables Claude to access Ethereum and EVM-compatible blockchain operations via ethers.js v5. The server allows Claude to perform operations such as creating wallets, checking balances, sending transactions, and interacting with smart contracts.

The MCP server offers the following tools to Claude:

Wallet Creation and Management

• wallet_create_random: Create a new wallet with a random private key.
• wallet_from_private_key: Create a wallet from a private key.
• wallet_from_mnemonic: Create a wallet from a mnemonic phrase.
• wallet_from_encrypted_json: Create a wallet by decrypting an encrypted JSON wallet.
• wallet_encrypt: Encrypt a wallet.

Blockchain Methods

• eth_getBalance: Check the Ethereum balance of a specified address.
• eth_sendTransaction: Send an Ethereum transaction.
• eth_call: Perform read and write operations on smart contracts.
• eth_sign: Sign a message using a wallet address.

Transaction Methods

• transaction_request: Create a transaction request.
• transaction_send: Send a transaction to the blockchain.
• transaction_receipt: Get the transaction receipt.
• transaction_cancel: Cancel an unconfirmed transaction.

Smart Contracts

• contract_deploy: Deploy a new smart contract.
• contract_interact: Interact with an existing smart contract.
• abi_decode: Decode smart contract ABI data.
• abi_encode: Encode data into ABI format.

📦 Installation

Prerequisites

To use this MCP server, you need:

1. Install Node.js and npm.
2. Install the ethers.js library:

   npm install ethers
   

Quick Installation

npm install mcp-cryptowallet-evm

Alternative Installation

If the above command is not available, you can manually clone the repository and run:

git clone https://github.com/your-organization/mcp-cryptowallet-evm.git
cd mcp-cryptowallet-evm
npm install

Configuration

Environment Variables

Ensure you set the following environment variables before running the server:

• ETH_PROVIDER_URL: The URL of the specified Ethereum node.
• PRIVATE_KEY: The private key used to sign transactions.

For example:

export PRIVATE_KEY="0x123456789abc..."

Configuration File

Create a config.json file and add the following content:

Usage

After configuration, restart Claude Desktop. Now, Claude can access the tools for Ethereum and EVM-compatible blockchains.

Example Usage

1. Create a new wallet:

   Can you help me create a new Ethereum wallet?
   

2. Query the balance:

   What is the balance of the Ethereum address 0x742d35Cc6634C0532925a3b844Bc454e4438f44e?
   

3. Send a transaction:

   Can you help me send 0.1 ETH to 0x742d35Cc6634C0532925a3b844Bc454e4438f44e?
   

Claude will interact directly with the Ethereum blockchain through the MCP server.

Development

Adding New Tools

To add new tools to the MCP server:

1. Define the tool in src/tools.ts.
2. Create a handler function in the corresponding handler file.
3. Add the handler to the handlers object in src/tools.ts.
