A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that provides tools and resources for collaborating with the tidymodels ecosystem in R.

🚀 Quick Start

The Tidymodels MCP Server offers tools and resources for interacting with the tidymodels ecosystem in R. While it can be extended for tool - neutral proxy AI workflows, in its current form, it can work with Cline.bot and Claude Desktop as a local MCP server. Its main purpose is to monitor the tidymodels ecosystem, especially all repositories under the tidymodels organization on GitHub, and provide comprehensive information about tidymodels packages, functions, and common workflows.

• List all packages in the tidymodels ecosystem.
• Provide detailed information about specific packages.
• Search for R functions in tidymodels packages.
• Generate template code for common tidymodels tasks.
• Search for issues in tidymodels repositories.

📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• Node.js (v14 or higher)
• npm

Setup

1. Clone this repository:

   git clone https://github.com/yourusername/tidymodels-mcp.git
   cd tidymodels-mcp
   

2. Install dependencies:

   npm install
   

3. Build the server:

   npm run build
   

📚 Documentation

GitHub Token (Optional)

This server can use a GitHub token to avoid rate limits when accessing the GitHub API. Add the following to the configuration file:

If you don't have a GitHub token, you can skip this step.

Environment Variables

Ensure that Node.js and npm are installed and are in the system's PATH environment variable.

🔧 Technical Details

Project Structure

• js/: Contains the JavaScript/Node.js server implementation.
• src/: Contains TypeScript source files (if using TypeScript).
• build/: Output directory for build files.

Build from Source

If you make changes to the TypeScript files, you can rebuild the server by running:

npm run build
