This server implements the Model Context Protocol (MCP) for the Schwab API, enabling seamless interaction with Schwab's services. It utilizes schwab-py and the MCP python-sdk to provide a comprehensive set of features.

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage - Authentication

The first step is to authenticate via the Schwab API and generate a token:

# Authenticate and generate a token
uv run schwab-mcp auth --client-id YOUR_CLIENT_ID --client-secret YOUR_CLIENT_SECRET --callback-url YOUR_CALLBACK_URL

You can set these credentials via environment variables to avoid entering them each time:

• SCHWAB_CLIENT_ID
• SCHWAB_CLIENT_SECRET
• SCHWAB_CALLBACK_URL (default is https://127.0.0.1:8182)

By default, the token is saved in ~/.local/share/schwab-mcp/token.yaml (varies by platform). You can specify an alternative path:

uv run schwab-mcp auth --token-path /path/to/token.yaml

Token files in YAML and JSON formats are supported, and the format is automatically inferred from the file extension.

Advanced Usage - Running the Server

After authentication, run the server:

uv run schwab-mcp serve

📚 Documentation

⚠️ Important Note

The --jesus-take-the-wheel flag, when enabled, allows the LLM to perform the following actions:

• Delete specific orders.
• Other potentially financially impactful operations (more features will be added in future versions).

Please use this flag only in a controlled environment and understand the associated risks.
