Nano Currency

🚀 Nano Currency-based MCP Server

This Model Context Protocol (MCP) server enables MCP-compatible clients (including certain AI agents) to send Nano currency via the Nano node RPC and retrieve account and block information.

As AI agents increasingly adopt the MCP standard, this server allows them to send Nano currency according to the owner's requirements or autonomously in certain settings.

❔ What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open framework that defines a standard way for applications to pass context to large language models (LLMs).

❔ What is Nano Currency?

Nano is a high-performance distributed ledger protocol designed for fast, secure, and eco-friendly transactions. It focuses on scalability and low latency, making it suitable for high-frequency trading scenarios.

Server Features

• Send Nano Currency: Transfer Nano currency from one address to another via signed transactions.
• Query Account Information: Retrieve the balance and transaction history of a specific Nano account.
• Query Block Information: Fetch the latest block data on the blockchain.

Warning

Exercise extreme caution when using this software. Since LLMs may generate hallucinations (i.e., false or inaccurate information), always verify instructions and transaction details before performing any actual operations.

Tool Instructions

1. Send Nano Currency

• Function: Transfer Nano currency from one address to another.
• Precautions:
  • Keep your private key secure and avoid disclosure.
  • The default maximum send amount is 0.01 XRB (the basic unit of Nano). Adjust it carefully if needed.

2. Query Account Information

• Function: Retrieve the balance and transaction records of a specific Nano account.
• Example Queries:
  • "Show my Nano account balance."
  • "List my transaction history in the past 24 hours."

3. Query Block Information

• Function: Obtain the latest block data on the blockchain, including height, timestamp, and transaction count.

Environment Variable Configuration

To ensure the server runs properly, set the following environment variables in the configuration file:

Usage in Claude Desktop

Step 1: Install the Tool

1. Open the settings interface of Claude Desktop.
2. Navigate to the "Tools" tab.
3. Click the "Add New Tool" button.
4. Fill in the following information as prompted:
   • Tool Name: Nano Currency Tool
   • Tool Description: Used for sending and querying Nano currency-related information
   • Executable File Path: C:\projects\nano-currency-mcp-server\nano-currency.js
5. Click "Save" to complete the installation.

Step 2: Configure Environment Variables

1. Open the configuration file of Claude Desktop (usually located in .claude-desktop/tools/ under the user directory).
2. Add the following content to the file:

   NANO_RPC_URL=http://localhost:7076
   NANO_PRIVATE_KEY=your_private_key_here
   DEFAULT_MAX_SEND=0.01
   

3. Save the file and restart Claude Desktop.

Step 3: Use the Tool

1. After starting Claude Desktop, you will see the new Nano currency tool icon in the interface.
2. Click the icon to view the tool description and examples of available commands.
3. Enter natural language instructions, such as:
   • "Send 0.001 XRB to nano_address."
   • "Query my Nano account balance."

Precautions

• Test Environment: Conduct initial tests in a test environment to ensure the security of your private key and transaction logic.
• Monitor Tool Behavior: Due to the uncertainty of LLMs, always monitor the tool's behavior and intervene manually if necessary.
