🚀 Quick Start

The Dune Analytics MCP Server serves as a bridge, connecting Dune Analytics data to AI agents. It offers a set of tools to interact with Dune Analytics queries and retrieve results in a convenient CSV format.

• Tools:
  • get_latest_result: Retrieve the latest result for a specified Dune query ID.
  • run_query: Execute a specified Dune query ID and obtain the result.
• CSV Output: All results are returned as CSV-formatted strings for easy processing.

📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• Python version 3.10 or higher.
• A valid Dune Analytics API key (obtainable from Dune Analytics).

Steps

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/kukapay/dune-analytics-mcp.git
   cd dune-analytics-mcp
   

2. Set up environment variables: Create a .env file in the project root directory:

   DUNE_API_KEY=your_api_key_here
   

   Alternatively, set it as a system environment variable:

   export DUNE_API_KEY="your_api_key_here"
   

💻 Usage Examples

Running the Server

• Development mode:

  mcp dev main.py
  

  Start the server with hot reloading.

• Install to Claude Desktop:

  mcp install main.py --name "Dune Analytics"
  

  Install it as a service for use on Claude Desktop.

Tool Usage

1. get_latest_result(query_id)

   • Description: Retrieve the latest result for a specified Dune query.
   • Input: query_id (integer) - The ID of the Dune query.
   • Output: A CSV-formatted string containing the query result.
   • Example:

     get_latest_result(query_id=4853921)
     

2. run_query(query_id)

   • Description: Execute a specified Dune query and return the result.
   • Input: query_id (integer) - The ID of the Dune query to run.
   • Output: A CSV-formatted string containing the query result.
   • Example:

     run_query(query_id=1215383)
     

Example Commands for Claude Desktop

• "Get the latest result for Dune query 1215383"
• "Run Dune query 1215383"
