MCP Server Malaysia Prayer Time

🚀 Malaysia Prayer Time Server Based on MCP

This project is a Malaysia prayer time server based on the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The server fetches official prayer time data through the API provided by waktusolat.app and integrates with Claude Desktop.

🚀 Quick Start

To get started with the project, follow these steps:

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/yourusername/mcp-server-malaysia-prayer-times.git
   cd mcp-server-malaysia-prayer-times
   

2. Create and activate a virtual environment:

   python -m venv .venv
   source .venv/bin/activate  # For macOS and Linux
   # Or
   .venv\Scripts\activate  # For Windows
   

3. Install the dependencies:

   pip install -r requirements.txt

• Retrieve prayer times based on city or coordinate location.
• Support the following time points:
  • Imsak (Pre-dawn fasting time, if available)
  • Fajr (Dawn Prayer)
  • Syuruk/Sunrise (Sunrise)
  • Dhuhr (Noon Prayer)
  • Asr (Afternoon Prayer)
  • Maghrib (Sunset Prayer)
  • Isha (Night Prayer)

📦 Installation

The installation steps are as follows:

Server Configuration

1. Create a config.json file in the project root directory.
2. Add the following content:

3. Set the environment variable NODE_ENV to production or keep the default.

• /prayer-times

  • Method: GET
  • Parameters:
    • city (Required): City name
    • country (Required): Country name, default is Malaysia
    • date (Optional): Date in the format YYYY - MM - DD or "today"

• /coordinates

  • Method: GET
  • Parameters:
    • lat (Required): Latitude
    • lon (Required): Longitude
    • date (Optional): Date in the format YYYY - MM - DD or "today"

🔧 Troubleshooting

Problem: Unable to connect to the server

1. Confirm that the configuration file path is correct and the file exists.
2. Check the logs:

   # macOS/Linux
   tail -f ~/Library/Logs/Claude/mcp*.log
   
   # Windows
   type %APPDATA%\Claude\Logs\mcp*.log
   

3. Test if the server is running:

   cd /path/to/mcp-server-malaysia-prayer-times
   python main.py
