📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• Node.js (v18 or higher)
• The ripgrep (rg) command is installed and added to the PATH. Use brew install ripgrep to install it on macOS.

💻 Usage Examples

Use with Claude Desktop

To use this MCP server with Claude Desktop:

1. Edit your Claude Desktop configuration file:

   • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
   • Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json

2. Add the following content to your configuration:

   }
   

   Replace /path/to/mcp-ripgrep with the absolute path where you cloned this repository.

3. Restart Claude Desktop.

🔧 Technical Details

This MCP server uses the ripgrep tool to execute shell commands. Although efforts have been made to safely escape parameters, please be careful when providing input as it will run commands on your machine.
