This project provides a server for NASA MCP, facilitating API testing and development.

🚀 Quick Start

📦 Installation

# Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/ProgramComputer/NASA-MCP-server.git

# Install dependencies
npm install

# Copy the example environment file and update it with your API key
cp .env.example .env

# Compile the code using TypeScript
npm run build

# Start the development server
npm run dev

# Run tests
npm test

💻 Usage Examples

Use the MCP Inspector for Testing

The NASA MCP server includes a script to help you test the API with the MCP inspector:

# Run the provided test script
./scripts/test-with-inspector.sh

This script will perform the following actions:

1. Build the project to ensure the latest changes are included.
2. Start the MCP inspector and run the NASA MCP server.
3. Allow you to interactively test all NASA APIs.

Example Test Requests

The repository contains example test requests for each API, which you can directly copy and paste into the MCP inspector:

# View example test requests
cat docs/inspector-test-examples.md
