🚀 Pinecone Cloud Model Context Protocol Server Documentation

This project aims to implement an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for Claude Desktop that can read from and write to Pinecone Cloud indexes.

🚀 Quick Start

Installation and Execution

1. Install the server using the following command:

uv add mcp-pinecone@latest

2. Create a configuration file config.json in the project directory and add the following content:

}

3. Start the server:

uv run mcp-pinecone

Creating an Index

Use the following command to create a new Pinecone index:

uv exec mcp-pinecone create-index --name my-index

Dependency Management and Building

1. Synchronize dependencies and update the lock file:

uv sync

2. Build a release version:

uv build

3. Publish to PyPI:

uv publish

Debugging Guide

Since the MCP server runs through standard input and output, debugging can be challenging. It is recommended to use MCP Inspector for debugging.

Install and start the Inspector:

npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector uv --directory {project_dir} run mcp-pinecone
