Usage

Start the MCP Server

Run directly:

npx notion-export-mcp-server

Or start with the installed module.

Modify the MCP configuration json of the client:

How to Obtain

To export anything from Notion, you need to use the same authentication as the logged-in user. These authentications are called token_v2 and file_token. They are cookies set when accessing Notion through a browser.

1. Open notion.so.
2. Log in with your account.
3. Open the browser's developer tools and go to Application > Storage > Cookies (Chrome) or the Storage tab (Firefox).
4. Copy the values of the cookies named token_v2 and file_token and save them in a secure place.
   • ⚠️ If file_token is not found, make sure you have manually exported a file at least once.
5. These cookies are valid for one year, so there's no need to update them frequently.

Note on Stability

This tool fully relies on the non-public but internal export function of Notion.so. The advantage is that we don't need to automatically generate any markup, just download and extract some ZIP files. Although the export function is relatively stable, it is still an internal API and may change or become invalid at any time.
