📦 Installation

# Install the package from PyPI
pip install mcp_pdf_forms

💻 Usage Examples

Command-line Tools

After installation, you can use the mcp-pdf-forms command to start the server:

# Scan PDF files using one or more directories
mcp-pdf-forms examples

You can also add it to Claude Code as an MCP:

claude mcp add pdf-forms mcp-pdf-forms .

PDF Discovery Tool

The PDF discovery tool helps you find PDF files in the specified directory.

• Input: The path of the directory to search.
• Output: A list of PDF files found in the specified directory.
• Use Case: Quickly locate all PDF files in a project or a specified folder.

Form Field Extraction Tool

The form field extraction tool extracts detailed information about all form fields from a PDF document.

• Input: The path of the PDF file.
• Output: Detailed information about each form field, including field name, type, location, and other attributes.
• Use Case: Analyze the form structure and understand the available fields.

Field Highlighting Visualization Tool

The field highlighting tool creates a visual representation of all form fields in a PDF document.

• Input: The path of the PDF file.
• Output: A modified PDF with all form fields highlighted.
• Use Case: Visually inspect the document layout and field positions.
