🚀 MCP TypeScript Tool Server

A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server implemented in TypeScript, offering various utility tools for large language models (such as Claude). This server includes a calculator, date-time tools, and a note-taking tool, with an extensible architecture to add more tools.

📋 Prerequisites

• Node.js (v16 or higher)
• npm (provided with Node.js)
• Claude desktop and/or Cursor (for using the tools)

📦 Installation

1. Clone the repository:

git clone <your-repo-url>
cd MCP

2. Install dependencies:

npm install

3. Build the project:

npm run build

⚙️ Configuration with Claude Desktop

1. Open or create your Claude desktop configuration file:

   • Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
   • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

2. Add the MCP server configuration:

Replace ABSOLUTE_PATH_TO_YOUR_PROJECT with the actual path of your project.

3. Restart Claude desktop.
4. Look for the hammer icon in the input box to confirm that the tools are available.

⚙️ Configuration with Cursor

1. Open Cursor.
2. Go to Cursor Settings > Features > MCP.
3. Click + Add New MCP Server.
4. Fill out the form:
   • Type: stdio
   • Name: MCPllmContext
   • Command: node ABSOLUTE_PATH_TO_YOUR_PROJECT/dist/index.js

💻 Usage Examples

Calculator

• Tool name: calculate
• Description: Evaluate mathematical expressions
• Usage: "Calculate 2 + 2"

Date/Time

• Tool name: current-date
• Description: Return the current date/time
• Format: "short" or "long"
• Usage: "What's the date today?"

Notes

• Tool names: save-note, get-note, list-notes
• Description: Save and retrieve text notes
• Usage: "Save a note titled 'Meeting' with the content 'Discuss project'"

🔧 Adding New Tools

1. Create a new file in the src/tools/ directory (e.g., src/tools/myTool.ts).
2. Implement your tool using the following template:

🐞 Troubleshooting

Issues with Claude Desktop

• Check the logs: %APPDATA%\Claude\logs\mcp*.log (Windows) or ~/Library/Logs/Claude/mcp*.log (macOS).
• Verify that the path in claude_desktop_config.json is absolute and correct.
• Try again after restarting Claude desktop.

Issues with Cursor

• Make sure you're using the latest version of Cursor.
• Check the console for error messages.
• Contact the Cursor support team if the issue persists.
