🚀 GistPad

GistPad is a Multi-Platform Clipboard (MCP) server based on GitHub Gists. It's mainly used for managing notes, daily summaries, and other content. By storing this information as Gists, it provides a centralized management platform.

🛠️ Installation and Configuration

1. Install Dependencies

npm install --save-dev lodash.map

2. Configure Environment Variables

Create a .env file in the project root directory and add the following content:

Gist Management

• List all Gists
  list_gists - Retrieve all your Gists (excluding daily notes and archived Gists).

• Get a single Gist
  get_gist - Fetch the content of a specific Gist by its ID.

• Create a new Gist
  create_gist - Create a new Gist by specifying the description and initial file content.

• Delete a Gist
  delete_gist - Delete a specific Gist by its ID.

• Update Gist description
  update_gist_description - Update the description information of a specific Gist.

• Duplicate a Gist
  duplicate_gist - Create a copy of a Gist containing all its files.

File Management

• Update file content
  update_gist_file - Update the content of a specific file in a given Gist.

• Add a new file
  add_gist_file - Add a new file to an existing Gist.

• Delete a file
  delete_gist_file - Remove a specific file from a Gist.

• Rename a file

Daily Notes

• Get/Create daily note
  get_todays_note - Retrieve or create today's daily note.

• Update daily note content

Starring and Archiving

• List all starred Gists
  list_starred_gists - Retrieve all your starred Gists.

  unstar_gist - Unstar a starred Gist.

Archive Management

• List all archived Gists
  list_archived_gists - Retrieve all your archived Gists.

Comment Management

• List all comments of a Gist
  list_gist_comments - Retrieve all comments under a specific Gist.

  add_gist_comment - Add a new comment to a specified Gist.

• Update an existing comment
  edit_gist_comment - Update the content of a specific comment.

• Delete a specified comment
  delete_gist_comment - Delete a specific comment.

Reusable Prompts

• Add a new prompt
  add_prompt - Add a new reusable prompt to your prompt collection.

• Delete a prompt
  delete_prompt - Remove a specified prompt from the collection.

📦 Resource Management

GistPad also supports exposing Gists as resources through the gist:/// URI scheme. This allows MCP clients to directly read them without performing tool operations. When you perform CRUD operations on Gists, MCP clients will be notified that the resource list has changed.

Additionally, MCP clients supporting resource templates can query all comments under a specified Gist via gist:///{gistId}/comments (without executing the list_gist_comments tool).

Resource Configuration

If you want to expose archived, starred Gists, or daily notes as resources, simply add the following to your MCP server configuration:
