📦 Installation

Install via Smithery

Automatically install npm-search for Claude Desktop through Smithery:

npx -y @smithery/cli install npm-search-mcp-server --client claude

Install via NPM (Recommended)

Alternatively, you can install npm-search-mcp-server via npm:

npm install -g npm-search-mcp-server

After installation, you can run it using the following command:

npm-search-mcp-server

Install via uv

When using uv, no specific installation is required. We'll use uvx to directly run npm-search-mcp-server.

🔧 Technical Details

Debugging

To debug the server, run:

npm run debug

Then connect to the endpoint 127.0.0.1:3000 using an editor that supports LSP (e.g., VS Code).
