The Layer 2 MCP Server is an MCP server designed for interacting with Ethereum Layer 2 networks. It supports multiple functions, including deploying ERC20 tokens, transferring ETH and tokens, and performing batch transfer operations.

📦 Installation

# Clone the repository

🔧 Configuration

Create a .env file in the root directory and add the following variables:

PRIVATE_KEY=Your Ethereum private key
ETH_L2_RPC=The RPC address of the Layer 2 chain you want to interact with

🤝 Integration with Cursor

Add the command type mcp server in Cursor's MCP settings panel and fill in the path in the execution command. For example:

node \\wsl.localhost\Ubuntu-22.04\root\xxxx\xxxx\layer2-dev\build\index.js

🤝 Integration with Claude Desktop

1. Install Claude Desktop.
2. Add a new MCP server with the following configuration:

3. The tool is now available in Claude conversations.

🧪 Testing

Test using the MCP inspector:

1. Install the MCP inspector:

npm install -g @modelcontextprotocol/inspector

2. Start the server:

npm start

3. Run the inspector in another terminal:

mcp-inspector

4. Open http://localhost:5173 in your browser to view the tool.

💰 Token Operations

• deployToken: Deploy a new ERC20 token contract.

  • Returns the contract address and transaction hash.

• transferETH: Transfer ETH to a specific address.

  • Parameters:
    • targetAddress: The address to receive ETH.
    • amount: The amount of ETH to transfer (1 = 1 ETH).
  • Returns the transaction hash.

• transferToken: Transfer tokens to a specific address.

  • Parameters:
    • tokenAddress: The address of the deployed ERC20 token contract.
    • targetAddress: The address to receive tokens.
  • Returns the transaction hash.

• batchTransfer: Perform a batch transfer operation.

  • Parameters:
    • tokenAddress: The address of the deployed ERC20 token contract.
    • transactionCount: The number of transactions to execute.
    • durationSeconds: The total duration in seconds.
  • Returns the result of the batch transfer.

🌐 Network Support

The Layer 2 MCP Server supports multiple Ethereum networks, including the mainnet, Layer 2 networks, and local development networks. You can specify the RPC address of the chain you want to interact with by setting the environment variable ETH_L2_RPC.
